Trump's Business Attempted to Bring In Nearly 200 Workers on Visas in 2025
Donald Trump’s family business increased its hiring of foreign workers on temporary visas this year, while his government was creating barriers for other businesses attempting to do the identical, a report published recently claimed.
According to information from the federal labor department, the business sought to hire at least nearly 200 overseas employees in 2025 for temporary positions at the US president’s Florida property, golf facilities and his Virginia winery.
The quantity of applications for H-2A and H-2B visas for staff including servers, office assistants, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and farm workers was the record submitted by the organization, and up from 121 in 2021, when Trump’s first term concluded.
It was also the fifth time in a decade that the former president had attempted to bring in over a hundred overseas workers for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, according to available data.
The disclosure comes amid a tightening on immigration laws by his government that has involved the implementation of a substantial charge on H1-B visas; increased review of the activities of the 55 million people who possess American work permits; and restrictive new rules for foreign students and journalists.
Overall, the business aimed to hire over 560 foreign laborers over the period Trump has been in the White House, from his first term and during the upcoming year.
Notably, Trump was questioned by some in the Republican party this period for remarks defending the necessity for foreign workers when a business was unable to find people with “specific talents” to fill particular roles.
“You can’t just say a nation is coming in, going to spend billions to construct a facility, and going to recruit individuals off an jobless roster who haven’t worked in years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he stated to a host after it was implied that foreign workers lower the pay of US workers.
The White House refused a request for comment, and the business did not immediately respond to an inquiry.
