Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men following a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage taken after exiting a car park lift, authorities reported.
A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
This event – which authorities stated was a standalone event and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in disruptions to rail services and the temporary blocking of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
